Sioux City Musketeers News Release
SIOUX CITY, IA - The Musketeers were back in action on Tuesday night against the Fargo Force. Sioux City was looking for a bounce-back game after losses in their last two games. Unfortunately the Musketeers would be unable to get the bounce back they were looking for. Losing by a final score of 4-2.
The Musketeers would once again get off to slow start and Fargo took advantage. Christoffer Bjork scored just three minutes into the game to give Fargo a 1-0 lead. Sioux City managed to tie things up a little over midway through thanks to Aaron Grounds second goal of the season at the 12:38 mark of the period. Kevin Lombardi and Brady Smith had assists on the play. Things wouldn't stay tied up for long, unfortunately. Ben Meyers scored a powerplay goal at the 15:12 to give Fargo a 2-1 lead and that's how things would stay for the rest of the period.
The score would remain the same for 19 minutes in the 2nd period, but Sioux City would manage to find the equalizer in the last minute. Jack Babbage fired a shot from the point that made it past Ryan Bischel for Babbage's first goal of the season. Anthony Kehrer had an assist on the play.
Unfortunately, Sioux City would be unable to find the back of the net the rest of the night. Hank Crone and Michael Mancinelli both added goals in the 3rd period to give Fargo the 4-2 victory.
Sioux City has now dropped three straight for the first time this season and will need to quickly find some answers before a big two-game weekend against the Dubuque Fighting Saints. Puck drop both nights set for 7:05 pm
