
Lipe Commits to Michigan Tech

DUBUQUE, Iowa - Fighting Saints defenseman Chris Lipe has announced his commitment to Michigan Tech. Lipe, a dependable defenseman for the Fighting Saints, has seven points on the season after the team acquired him from Des Moines before the season started.
"Chris' performance has been consistent and stable from day one," said head coach Oliver David. "He is a trustworthy defenseman who read the game well and Chris has been invaluable to us this year. Undoubtedly he will add value to Michigan Tech's back end next season."
Lipe has two goals and five assists for the Fighting Saints in his first season with Dubuque. He has been a steady presence on the Fighting Saints back end since the season started. He is tied for the team lead with a plus-10 on the season.
"I am very happy to be committed to Michigan Tech," said Lipe. "I am very excited to join such a great program."
Before coming to Dubuque, Lipe spent a year in the USHL with the Des Moines Buccaneers. In 55 games, Lipe totaled seven points which he has already matched this season. The year before the USHL Lipe played a season for the Kenai River Brown Bears of the NAHL, grabbing 22 points in 60 games.
