Quad Cities River Bandits News Release

The crack of the bat, the smell of fresh cut grass and the warmth of the summer sun are nearly here.

An early sign of spring came out of Modern Woodmen Park on Thursday, as the Quad Cities River Bandits announced that single-game tickets for the 2009 season will go on sale Tuesday, March 10.

"Based on the traffic we have had over the last few months, we expect that Tuesday is going to be a very busy day in the box office," said team owner Dave Heller. "We are well ahead of where we were last year at this time in terms of tickets sold. The 2008 season was a very successful one, but our chief accomplishment was laying a strong foundation to make the 2009 season even bigger and better. With new seatbacks on all bleacher seats, a new 80-foot long ribbon board in right field and a completely redecorated suite level, I know our fans are going to be really excited about all the new improvements this year!"

The Bandits froze single-game ticket prices across the board for the 2009 season, providing fans with exceptional value thanks to low prices and non-stop entertainment for all ages. Club seats feature an up-close view of the action from behind home plate and personal wait service bringing food and beverage directly to fans for just $12. Lower Box seats are just $9 while Upper Box tickets are available for only $8. Fans in the Bleachers will soon benefit from the installation of brand new seat backs in the reserved section that cost just $7, while those looking to enjoy an evening on the grassy berm can get into Modern Woodmen Park for only $5.

There are three easy ways for fans to reserve tickets for the 2009 season. They can log on to www.RiverBandits.com, call the River Bandits' box office at (563) 3-BANDIT or visit Modern Woodmen Park during regular business hours at 209 S. Gaines Street in downtown Davenport.

"One of the best things about River Bandits baseball is that we offer affordable prices without sacrificing great value," said Vice President and General Manager Kirk Goodman. "That has never been more important than in times like these. People are understandably sensitive about their spending habits and want to make sure they are getting the best bang for their buck. Considering a family of four can enjoy a ballgame for just $20, River Bandits baseball provides just that."

While Full-Season and Mini-Plan packages have been available to River Bandits fans since late 2008, Tuesday marks the first date that fans can reserve tickets for individual games during the 2009 season. Highlights include the Modern Woodmen Park home-opener on April 13, a quartet of bobblehead doll giveaways on May 23, June 13, July 11 and August 22, visits from the ZOOperstars on July 24 and BirdZerk on August 20, and an Independence Day fireworks extravaganza on July 3. Many more exciting promotions are in the works and will be announced over the next few weeks.

Subscribers to the River Bandits' email newsletter - Bandit Alert! - will be given the opportunity to secure single-game tickets before the general public during an exclusive window starting Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. and lasting through Monday. The Bandit Alert newsletter is the best way for fans to keep up with all of the news and promotions taking place at Modern Woodmen Park, and fans can sign up for it by visiting www.RiverBandits.com.

UP NEXT: The River Bandits will kick off the 2009 season early on Sunday, April 5, welcoming in the Double-A Springfield Cardinals in an exhibition game at Modern Woodmen Park. On Tuesday, April 21, the park will play host to NCAA Division I baseball for the first time with a match-up between the University of Iowa and Western Illinois. The River Bandits' regular season home-opener will take place on April 13 against the Beloit Snappers. Tickets for the 2009 regular season as well as the exhibition and college game are available by calling (563) 3-BANDIT, going to www.RiverBandits.com or stopping by the Modern Woodmen Park box office.

ABOUT THE BANDITS: Under new ownership and management in 2008, the Quad Cities River Bandits topped 207,000 fans for only the sixth time in team history and the first time in 12 years. Having recently completed one of the most successful seasons in the history of the franchise, the club has stayed busy over the off-season as a popular venue for holiday parties and other special events. With a renewed dedication to fans, sponsors and the Quad Cities community, the return of the River Bandits has brought a resurgence of support for the team. BanditWear, season tickets and mini-plans are on sale for the 2009 season by calling (563) 3-BANDIT or heading to www.RiverBandits.com. But hurry - good seats are going fast!
