Silvertips Open Training Camp to the Public Starting August 23 at Angel of the Winds Arena in Downtown Everett

EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips (@WHLSilvertips), defending and two-time Western Conference champions and six time U.S. Division champions of the Western Hockey League, today announced the complete schedule for the upcoming 2018-19 training camp period, opening for the public with its first on-ice session on Thursday, Aug. 23, starting at 11:00 a.m. All training camp scrimmages will be hosted inside Angel of the Winds Arena in downtown Everett and are open to the public, free of charge.

GREEN VS GREY GAME: SUNDAY, AUG. 26 (1:30pm)

The tradition of showcasing Silvertips present and future talent in a competitive environment and intrasquad format continues with the annual Green vs. Grey Game at A.O.T.W. Arena on Sunday, Aug. 26 at 1:30 p.m. The game format will be presented with three 20-minute periods, and admission is free to all fans in attendance with general admission seating offered in the lower bowl of A.O.T.W. Arena.

On Saturday, Aug. 25, the Silvertips annual Rookie Game is 4:45 p.m. (two 30-minute halves) and completes Saturday's on-ice sessions, offering a closer look at prospects from the Silvertips 2002 and 2003-born categories. Last season's Tips Rookie Game included newly signed goaltender Blake Lyda and forward Gage Goncalves and past participants with experience on the Tips defending Western Conference championship squad include defensemen Gianni Fairbrother, Ian Walker, and Kyle Walker, and forward Dawson Butt.

Silvertips training camp invites approximately 80 players to compete for an active roster spot or position on the club's 50-man player protected list, and will organize "Phase 1" of the camp into four teams to compete for the camp's Volunteer Cup championship, concluding with a bronze medal game at 8:15 a.m. and gold medal game at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25.

Fans attending any training camp session at A.O.T.W. Arena, Thursday through Sunday, are invited to enter through the main doors at the intersection of Hewitt Ave. and Oakes Ave. Doors will open 15 minutes prior to the first scrimmage of each morning and afternoon session. Doors for the Green vs. Grey Game on Sunday and Rookie Game on Saturday will open 30 minutes prior to opening face-off.

Opening the Silvertips home schedule, which covers 34 games this season at Angel of the Winds Arena, is Opening Night against the Vancouver Giants on September 22 at 7:05 p.m. All fans will also witness the raising of the Silvertips sixth U.S. Division championship banner and second Western Conference championship banner to the rafters before the opening puck drop, and the first 5,000 fans at the doors will receive a collectible Silvertips magnet schedule, presented by Lamoureux Real Estate and Sound Transit. Season Tickets and Mini-Plan Packages are available at www.everettsilvertips.com/season. Opening Night for the Tips 2018-19 season is Friday, Sept. 21 at Vancouver (7:35 p.m., 1380 AM / 95.3 FM KRKO).

The Silvertips will open the 2018-19 preseason schedule with the Delta Hotels Preseason Classic on Aug. 31 at Angel of the Winds Arena, 7:00 p.m. against the Tri-City Americans. All preseason tickets - offering general admission seating for Tips home games - are available at http://everettsilvertips.com/preseason.
