Silverbacks help children do their best, never quit
June 15, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Buffalo Silverbacks News Release
Buffalo, NY. The ABA Buffalo Silverbacks professsional basketball team and three of their star players, Tim Winn, Modie Cox and DeRon Rutledge, have undertaken a program designed to teach children to focus on the effort that they apply to a situation and not the result. Called Do Your Best, Never Quit, Silverback staff and players are holding special clinics for children throughout upstate New York (over 50 have been scheduled thus far) to put across the message, "We want the kids to know that it's not about the win or the loss; it's about doing your best and believing in yourself no matter what the outcome," Modie stated at a press conference with Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown.
In addition, the Silverbacks will participate in the Gus Macker 3-on-3 Tournament to be held on Niagara Square in downtown Buffalo on June 24th and 25th. For more information, call 716 714 7100 or email info@buffalosilverbacks.com or visit www.buffalosilverbacks.com or www.abalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
