Anthony Bonner brings ABA back to St. Louis

St. Louis, MO. - Anthony Bonner announced today that Stunners Basketball & Entertainment, Inc, has reserved the rights to establish an American Basketball Association (ABA) team in St. Louis, Missouri. The new team will be known as the St. Louis Stunners and plans to play in the upcoming 2006-2007 season.

Bonner, a Saint Louis native and a Saint Louis University Alumni played six years of his professional career in the National Basketball Association. Bonner also announced that he will serve in the roles of Head Coach & Assistant GM of the new team.

"Our goal is to bring the NBA to St. Louis and we believe that an ABA team is the perfect vehicle to show that Saint Louis will support professional basketball. Our ownership group is committed to keeping professional basketball in St. Louis," Bonner explained from the Height Center located in Richmond Heights, MO.

The original American Basketball Association was founded in 1967, competing with the more established, rival National Basketball Association until reaching an agreement of merger in 1976. After a 25-year lockout the American Basketball Association returned in 2001. The ABA currently has 60 teams schedule to play in the upcoming 2006-07 season.

As a 2006 expansion team of the ABA, the St. Louis Stunners will provide high quality professional basketball at affordable prices. The Stunners' entertainment philosophy combines professional basketball with music, concerts, and comedy for an evening of fun for the entire family. Each home game will be an event in addition to an exciting game of professional basketball. Season tickets will start at $200 for 18 home games.
