Atlanta Silverbacks News Release
ATLANTA, GA - The Atlanta Silverbacks today announced a new sponsorship with Best Buy, North America's leading consumer electronics retailer. As a part of the two-year agreement, Best Buy becomes the official electronics retailer of the Silverbacks. Included in the deal are advertising signage agreements, as well as naming rights for "Best Buy Game Day." The Best Buy logo also will appear on Silverbacks' player cards and team posters. Throughout the year, Silverbacks players will make appearances at Best Buy events.
Stephen Pratten, Silverbacks' President and CEO, says the Silverbacks' newest partnership is a testament to the organization's work. "The Atlanta Silverbacks work hard to support and promote soccer in Georgia," said Pratten. "We're excited to be working with Best Buy in 2006; it's pleasing to see more and more companies recognize the marketing value of both soccer and the Atlanta Silverbacks."
The Atlanta Silverbacks remain committed to the sport of soccer and have confirmed that commitment by building a world-class soccer complex in Atlanta. The complex, which already includes two state-of-the-art fields, will soon be home to a bar/restaurant and a 3000-seat stadium with concessions, locker-rooms, and additional amenities. The Silverbacks recently unveiled plans that will see the stadium increase to a total capacity of 15,000.
The Silverbacks Men will open the new stadium on Sat., June 3 at 7:30 p.m. against long-time rivals, the Charleston Battery. The Silverbacks Women will play their first home game in the new stadium on Fri., June 9 at 7:30 p.m. against the Hampton Roads Piranhas. Season tickets are on sale now.
