Preview: Silverbacks to Close Regular Season vs. Ottawa

Atlanta Silverbacks News Release

ATLANTA - In their final 2015 regular season game at Atlanta Silverbacks Park, the Atlanta Silverbacks (7-11-11, 32 points Combined Table) face off against the Fall Season champion and 11-game unbeaten Ottawa Fury FC (15-10-4, 55 points).

Fury FC have been terrific this season, losing only once in the fall. That loss, a, 2-1, drop against Minnesota United, happened on Aug. 15. Ottawa has drawn games against the Loons, the New York Cosmos, the Tampa Bay Rowdies and the Fort Lauderdale Strikers. Two of those teams have already guaranteed their playoff spots and the other two are fighting each other for the remaining one.

Part of Fury FC's winning formula lies in their mesmerizing displays on the road. They haven't lost away from their own field, boasting a 2.56 points per game average, have conceded only .67 goals, and have scored in 100 percent of their away matches.

Unfortunately for Ottawa, it is coming to a very difficult place to play against a sound defensive team. Fury FC needs the full three points if they want to remain at the top of the Combined Standings. It won't affect their playoff hopes, but would be a nice confidence booster heading into their first playoff match.

The Silverbacks have earned three points in their last five matches. Defeating Fury FC, arguably the best team this season, at home would be a great way to end the 2015 season.

Atlanta's final home game at Atlanta Silverbacks Park kicks off Saturday (4 p.m. | ESPN3).
