Silver Stars forward LaToya Thomas undergoes successful knee surgery

SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio Silver Stars forward LaToya Thomas had successful arthroscopic knee surgery Wednesday to remove a torn meniscus in her left knee, the team announced. Dr. Richard Steffen of the Sports Medicine Associates performed the surgery.

Thomas suffered the knee injury during Sunday's road loss to the Los Angeles Sparks. Thomas will remain on the active list, but is out indefinitely. She will be re-evaluated on Thursday.

Thomas, the first overall pick in the 2003 WNBA draft, has appeared in 13 games so far in 2006, averaging 9.0 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.
