
Silver Sox Take Care of Armada

Combining pitching and hitting the Silver Sox (3-10) outplayed the Long Beach Armada in a 10-6 win at Peccole Park Tuesday night. SP Marc Kaiser pitched five innings giving up four runs on five hits, while striking out four. The Silver Sox bats knocked in ten runs on eleven hits. 1B Ryan Brown led the team in hitting with two hits and four RBIs in four at bats.
DH Brett Flowers started the Silver Sox scoring drive by knocking in RF Juan Senreiso in the fourth inning. Ryan Brown quickly followed that with a three run double that put the Sox ahead 4-3 at the end of the fourth. RP Mario Guilin (1-0) came in for Kaiser in the sixth inning and shutout the Armada in both his innings pitched to pick up the win.
The Silver Sox kept the runs coming in all game including a solo shot in the sixth by C D.J. Dixon, a two run homer by DH Brett Flowers in the seventh, and two run single by 3B Steve Alexander. RP Jeremy Flanagan made his Silver Sox debut tonight pitching two innings and only giving up one run on one hit with three strikeouts.
