May 25, 2008 - Golden Baseball League (GBL)
Reno Silver Sox News Release

In a game riddled with errors, seven between both teams, and the first game in a double header against the Orange County Flyers, the Reno Silver Sox rallied in the seventh inning to take it into extra innings. The Silver Sox offense couldn?t produce as they dropped to 0-2 in the 11-10 nail biter.

Though Saturday?s fireworks were postponed until June 7, there was still an amazing display as both teams? bats lit up from the get go. The Silver Sox started the scoring madness in the first and second innings. Answering back the Flyers tied the game up at two after the third inning. See-sawing back and forth the score finally fell into the favor of Orange County as they took a small lead which they held until the seventh inning.

Rallying in the seventh the Silver Sox tied it up and took it into extra innings. At the top of the eighth relief pitcher Paul Wilson, who took the loss, allowed a base hit and a catching error by 1B Steven Alexander moved the runner into scoring position. The Flyers knocked in the go ahead run before the Silver Sox ended the top of the inning. Relief pitcher Dane De La Rosa prevented another Silver Sox rally as two batters grounded out and one struck out to give the Silver Sox their second loss of the season.
