SYRACUSE, New York - The Syracuse Silver Knights and Baltimore Blast faced off in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Sunday afternoon at the Onondaga War Memorial. The Silver Knights would be out for revenge after a thriller in Game 1 that saw the Silver Knights fall to the Blast 6-5 in triple overtime.

Antonio Manfut would get things started for the Silver Knights with the first goal of the game coming 12:10 into the matchup. The goal would bring the fans to their feet and the Silver Knights came out with more energy and fight. The Knights would hold onto the 1 goal advantage for the rest of the quarter heading into the first intermission.

But the Blast would not go away quietly and would storm back to take control in what would be a very physical second quarter. Tony Donatelli opened the scoring up for the Blast just 3 minutes into the quarter. The Blast would use this goal as a momentum shifter and kept the attack on the rest of the quarter.

The middle of the quarter the physicality between the two rival sides started to heat up. After a few rough plays, Domenico Vitale and Levi Houapeu got tangled up at midfield that saw both players fall to the ground. After a few pushes both sides were separated. Both players received a blue card and each a bench warning. The physical play would continue for the remainder of the quarter that saw the Blast take the lead on a Pat Healey goal with just 1 minute remaining in the half.

The third quarter would be the highest scoring of the game seeing 4 total goals, two from each side. Former Rochester teammates made a great off the wall connection with Gary Boughton scoring on a pass from Joey Tavernese. Darren Toby would add a goal just 2 minutes later on an assist from Antonio Manfut. But the two Silver Knight goals would be sandwhiched between two Blast goals. The Blast would take a 4-3 lead heading into the fourth and final quarter.

The final quarter would see high action from both teams but none finding the back of the net. The Silver Knights would pull Oquinn for the final two minutes of the game with Jake Schindler on as the sixth attacker. But the effort would fall short and the Silver Knight's season would come to a close. The Silver Knights finished the regular season with an 11-9 record and a 1-2 record in the playoffs after falling to the 1st place Baltimore Blast in back to back single goal games.

The Silver Knights would like to thank all of the fans, sponsors, players, and more for making this a great and most successful season. Without you all none of this would be possible.
