The Nashua Silver Knights need extra frames to finish the Torrington Titans, win 2-1 Jul 16th 2016, 04:22

It took 10 innings, but the Nashua Silver Knights (21-13) managed to put away the Torrington Titans (13-20) 2-1 on Friday at Holman Stadium.

With the score tied at one in the tenth inning, Yanni Thanopoulas came to the plate and doubled, plating Ryan Sullivan.

It was a good day at the plate for the Nashua Silver Knights' Luke Glancy. Glancy went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the third inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Mike Geannelis handled the Torrington Titans' lineup with ease, racking up five strikeouts. Geannelis allowed no earned runs, six hits and one walk over six innings.

A bright spot for the Torrington Titans in the defeat was Connor Lewis, who allowed only one run while striking out seven.

Seth Pinkerton improved to 3-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Nashua Silver Knights. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered no hits.

Lizandro Cruz ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
