Silver Knights Host SharX New Years Eve at 1pm

SYRACUSE N.Y. - The Syracuse Silver Knights will bring in the new year at home as they face off against division rivals the Norfolk Sharx on New Year's Eve at 1 p.m. at the Oncenter War Memorial.
The Silver Knights (5-6) are coming off a great performance last weekend as they took an 18-8 victory against the Missouri Comets at the Oncenter. This win was a team effort as seven different players found the back of the net, including four points apiece from Nelson Santana and Cory Elenio.
Goalkeeper Eric Reed had an impressive game as well, recording 24 saves. The Silver Knights have been able to establish great team chemistry as they reach the midway point of the season. They hold a half-game lead on the Rochester Lancers for second place in the MISL's Eastern Division and are aiming to prove that they belong among the best teams in league.
The Norfolk Sharx (1-9) are having a tough inaugural season, but claimed their first victory of the season on Thursday night as a late goal by Gerson Dos Santos lifted them to a 18-16 win against Rochester. Norfolk is led by forward Matt Delicate, who has 17 points this season, while Dos Santos has 16.
The SharX's defense will face a challenge as they face the extremely strong Silver Knights' scoring arsenal, including Slavisa Ubiparapovic, who has 36 points, good for fifth in the league, and Jeff Hughes, whose 26 points lead all defenders in the in the MISL.
