INDIANAPOLIS, IN-- The Indianapolis Ice announced today that goaltender Shawn Silver was selected as the CHL's Goaltender of the Month for the month of December. The award is the fourth honor for Silver already this season as he is also a three-time CHL Goaltender of the Week recipient.

The December to remember had Silver posting an 8-3-0 record, 1.90 goals-against-average, one shutout and a .929 save percentage. He led all CHL goaltenders during the month in wins with five of his eight victories coming on the team's long, but successful road trip.

He is currently riding a seven-game win streak that includes a 1.54 GAA, one shutout and a .939 save percentage. The seven-game stretch mirrors an earlier six-game win streak this year that included an 0.97 GAA, two shutouts and a .966 save percentage.

The native of Thunder Bay, Ontario has had a year to remember as well. He set the new CHL record for consecutive scoreless minutes earlier this season by not allowing a goal in 222:01. He currently rests second in the league in GAA (1.71) and save percentage (.936) and is tied for third in wins (15) and shutouts (3).
