Silent Night; Blaze Blanked 2-0

Bakersfield Blaze News Release
In a tight, well-pitched battle, the Visalia Rawhide had a line drive go off the top of the outfield wall for a two-run homer, and that would be all for either club as the Bakersfield Blaze dropped the third game of the series, 2-0, on a crowded Dollar Monday night at Sam Lynn Ballpark.
17 of the 18 half innings resulted in a zero on the scoreboard.
And many of those half innings were due to Visalia starter Brad Keller (W, 7-6). The big righthander had his sinker working from the outset, and after pitching out of a 1st-inning jam, courtesy of an error and a base hit, the Blaze never really sniffed another rally chance until the 8th.
Down 2-0 in the home half of the 8th inning, a base hit and an error gave the Blaze a narrow opening, and a wild pitch moved both runners into scoring position. Jordan Cowan dunked a flyball down the leftfield line, but it landed two feet foul, and Cowan would go on to strike out.
The Blaze got a walk in the 9th, but nothing else as Cameron Gann (S, 1) got the save.
Meanwhile, Eddie Campbell (L, 10-7) pitched well enough to win, but got burned in the 3rd inning when a Joe Munoz deep flyball banged off the top of the outfield wall and left the yard for a two-run homer - the only two runs to come across in the game.
Campbell would end up going 5.2 innings, striking out seven, and Jake Zokan and Thyago Vieira combined to work the final 3.1 scoreless frames.
The Blaze still sit 8.0 games up for first place in the Cal League North.
The series and homestand conclude on Family Tuesday in the season's final 7:45pm start time (before games move back to 7:30pm at home), as the Blaze take on the Rawhide one more time. Anthony Misiewicz gets the nod for Bakersfield.
