Arkansas Diamonds News Release
(North Little Rock, AR) - The Arkansas Twisters announced Chris Siegfried is returning to the team as its head coach.
"I'm very excited to come back to the Twisters," says Siegfried. "I'm excited for the franchise and the direction we're heading. The 10 year anniversary is shaping up to be the best in franchise history."
Siegfried is the first coach in Twisters history to win more than 10 games and make the playoffs in his first year. His offense was the most prolific in team history while quarterback Kyle Rowley and receiver Chris Denney earned top af2 honors as Offensive MVP and Playmaker of the Year respectively. Siegfried also had four players earn first or second team All-af2 honors.
"We're extremely excited about the return of Coach Siegfried to lead our 10 year anniversary season," explains Twisters President Jack Lankford. "To go from having one returning player and being practically an expansion team with all the new players in 2008 to having the most prolific offense in team history and making the playoffs, I can't wait to see the team he puts together for the '09 season."
The former af2 Coach of the Year is second on the af2 list for career coaching victories and won an af2 championship in 2006 as head coach of Spokane.
