Sidewinders To Face Iowa Cubs In Season's Final Thirsty Thursday

Tucson, AZ - The Tucson Sidewinders will host the Iowa Cubs and the Omaha Royals in an 8-game homestand beginning Tuesday, July 22nd at Tucson Electric Park. The team will take on the Triple-A affiliates of the Chicago Cubs and the Kansas City Royals during a homestand that features the Sidewinders Backpack Giveaway, Fireworks Friday and the final Thirsty Thursday of the season on July 24th.

The homestand will begin with the first of two Quik Mart Tuesdays, when fans can stop by any Quik Mart location to pickup a $2 ticket coupon. The first 1,500 kids 12 and under through the gates with paid admission on Saturday will receive a Sidewinders Backpack just in time for the return of school.

The Sidewinders followed the All-Star Break by winning two of their four games in Tacoma against the Rainiers. During the break Sidewinder Third Baseman represented the team at both the Futures Game in Yankee Stadium and the Triple-A All-Star game in Louisville, KY. D'Antona won the Triple-A All-Star Home Run Derby and delivered the go ahead RBI in the Pacific Coast League's 6-5 victory over the International League.
