
Sidewinders drop tenth straight

Fresno, CA - Nate Schierholtz went 3-4 with four RBI and Eliezer Alfonso drove in three as the Fresno Grizzlies beat the Sidewinders 10-4 on Sunday afternoon to extend Tucson's losing streak to 10 games.
The Sidewinders committed three errors, allowed six unearned runs and stranded 12 men on base.
Emiliano Fruto, making a spot start, was charged with the loss. Fruto (0-2) gave up four runs (two earned) on four hits and walked five in three innings of work. Dustin Glant allowed four runs (one earned) in his one inning and Cody Evans gave up two runs (one earned) in two and two thirds.
The Sidewinders and Grizzlies will wrap up their four game series tomorrow afternoon at Chukchansi Park. Right-hander Billy Buckner (0-1, 14.63) starts for Tucson against right-hander Matt Palmer (0-2, 7.00) for Fresno. First pitch is at 12:05. The game will air LIVE on the internet at www.tucsonsidewinders.com beginning at 11:55 and will air on tape delay on COOL 1450 beginning at 6:00.
