Sidekicks Hit the Road, Look to Sweep Rio Grande Valley in Regular Season

DALLAS (Jan. 18, 2013) - The Sidekicks (9-1) look to make it four in a row over the Rio Grande Valley Flash (5-4) this Sunday at 5:00 p.m. when the two teams square off at State Farm Arena in Hidalgo. Dallas is looking to hold on to their top spot in the Central Division of the PASL, which they secured in a 6-2 win over Chicago at home on January 12. Sunday will be the final regular season match between the Sidekicks and Flash, the Sidekicks coming out on top each time the teams have met so far.

The Sidekicks last faced Rio Grande Valley home on January 3, coming out on top 5-2. Jamie Lovegrove notched two goals in the match, and will enter Sunday's game on a nine- game goal scoring streak. He also leads the Sidekicks in shots with 53 (5.3 per game).

Midfielder Frank Mbemba has also been a recent standout with a point (goal or assist) in each of the Sidekicks first 10 games.

Sidekicks goaltender Sagu is on a pace to set both a Sidekicks and PASL record for lowest Goals Against Average by a goalkeeper in a season. His G.A.A. is 2.99 in 9 games played this season. The Sidekicks record for lowest G.A.A. in a season is 3.20 set by Krys Sobieski in 1987-88, while the PASL record for lowest G.A.A. is 3.23 set by Chris Toth of San Diego in 2011-12.
