
Shultz Announces Retirement

Glens Falls, NY- Adirondack Lumberjacks outfielder Brian Shultz has announced his retirement from baseball after three plus years in the Northern League, the club announced today.
Originally entering professional baseball with the Schaumburg (IL) Flyers of the Northern League Central, Shultz hit .301 his rookie year, while blasting 6 home runs and driving in 36. His best season, though, came a year later while still with the Flyers, as he hit .277 with 9 home runs and 54 RBI's.
This season, Shultz had hit just .094 in 32 at bats for the Lumberjacks after being picked up early in the season, and had driven just 2 runs while seeing time as an outfielder and designated hitter.
The Lumberjacks will be hosting their Second Annual Boy Scout Campout Night this Saturday, June 15. Area Boy Scouts are invited to attend the Jacks game against the Berkshire Black Bears, and set up camp on the playing field following the game. The Lumberjacks will be presenting a movie to the Scouts. More information can be obtained by calling the Lumberjacks Ticket Office at (518) 743-9618.
