Shuckers Begin Ten Game Homestand Tonight

BILOXI, MS - The Biloxi Shuckers face off against the Mississippi Braves (Atlanta Braves) in the first leg of a 10-game homestand at MGM Park, Monday, Aug. 22 through Friday, Aug. 26. The homestand features PokéMonday, MiLB.COMMunity Night, Ocean Springs Community Night, First Responders Night, Double Play Thursday, a Shuckers Drawstring Backpack Giveaway, presented by Beau Rivage Resort & Casino and Strikeout ALS Night.

What's Shuckin': Facing the Braves: The Shuckers and Braves have met for 32 all-time games with the series even, 16-16. Mississippi leads the 2016 series, 5-4, and holds the all-time series lead in games played at MGM Park, 10-7. Prospecting: Mississippi's roster features eight of the Atlanta Braves' top-30 prospects from MLBPipeline: SS Ozzie Albies (2), LHP Sean Newcomb (3), RHP Lucas Sims (14), OF Dustin Peterson (18), RHP Max Povse (20), RHP Akeel Morris (28), RHP Patrick Weigel (29) and LHP A.J. Minter (30). Biloxi's roster features six of the Milwaukee Brewers' top-30 prospects: RHP Luis Ortiz (5), OF Brett Phillips (8), RHP Jorge Lopez (14), C Jacob Nottingham (15), RHP Brandon Woodruff (25) and OF Tyrone Taylor (26).

- Strikeout ALS Awareness Game - Join the Mississippi-Louisiana ALS Chapter in a Strikeout ALS awareness game. The ALS Association will be raffling off special autographed items on the concourse throughout the night.

The homestand will conclude with five games against the Jackson Generals (Seattle Mariners), Saturday, Aug. 27 through Wednesday, Aug. 31. Saturday, Aug. 27 there will be a Post-Game Fireworks Extravaganza; Sunday, Aug. 28 is McDonald's Family Fun Day, with pregame autographs and post-game catch on the field. It's also SuperHero Night, presented by WXXV-TV; Monday, Aug. 29 is Cancer Awareness Night with the American Cancer Society. Tuesday, Aug. 30 the Shuckers will let the good times roll with Halfway to Mardi Gras Night; Wednesday, Aug. 31 is Fan Appreciation Night featuring a post-game team autograph session.
