Shuckers Announce Home Game Times for 2016 Season

BILOXI, MS - Today the Biloxi Shuckers announced home game times for the 2016 Southern League season, including the home opener on Thursday, April 7 against the Chattanooga Lookouts to begin a schedule of 70 home games at MGM Park. Preluding the home schedule is a 1:10 pm exhibition game with the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday, April 2 at MGM Park.

After playing the first 54 games of the 2015 season away from Biloxi, the Shuckers open the 2016 home schedule with an eight-game homestand from Thursday April 7, through Wednesday, April 13 against the defending Southern League Champion Chattanooga Lookouts and neighboring rival Mobile BayBears. Opening Day on April 7 is slated to begin at 6:40 pm.

The opening homestand will mark the first of 13 weekends that the 2015 Baseball America Team of the Year will have a home game. All Friday and Saturday home games will begin at 7:10 pm. Sunday, April 10, April 17 and May 1 will feature a 1:10 pm start time, while the remaining Sunday home games will start at 5:10 pm.

Monday through Thursday home games feature 6:40 pm start times from April 7 through May 12 and August 8 through August 31. Monday through Thursday games from May 31 to July 28 will begin at 7:10 pm.

The Shuckers will play a special 10:40 am contest against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos on Wednesday, April 20.

The Biloxi Shuckers 2016 promotional schedule will be released in the coming months, and will be highlighted by 12 fireworks shows: Saturday, April 9; Saturday, April 30; Friday, May 13; Saturday, May 28; Saturday, June 4, Saturday, June 11; Saturday, June 25; Monday, July 4; Saturday, July 16; Friday, July 30; Saturday, August 6 and Saturday, August 27.
