
Shootout Win For The Bobcats

The Bismarck Bobcats (27-12-1, 55 points) won Friday night against the Owatonna Express (21-18-2, 44 points) in a shootout 4-3. The win for the Bobcats stretches the home-winning streak to nine games and the current win streak to seven games. Bobcats received a great night from goalie Matt Grogan, who had 35 saves on 38 shots in the win.
Bobcats got off to a solid start in the first period as Ryan Dunne scored his third goal of the season 2:07 into the first period. With less than 30 seconds to play in the first period, Casey Kleisinger scored the second goal of the night for the Bobcats.
In the second period, the Bobcats gave Owatonna two five-on-three powerplays that Owatonna would eventually work to score on the powerplay. The Express' Dan Cecka would score on the powerplay at the 13:35 mark in the period as the second five-on-three expired. The Bobcats would respond with more than a minute to go in the second period as John Wickman gave the Bobcats a 3-1 lead after two periods.
In the final period of the game, the Express would tie things up and force the game into extra time. The Bobcats would prevail in a five-round shootout as Nicholas Jensen would score the game-winnner on the final shot in the shootout.
Bismarck went 0-2 on the powerplay, while Owatonna went 1-6.
The Bobcats are 5-2 against the Express this season.
