Shock Take Arena Game Outdoors for the Joe Albi Summer Classic

Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today the first outdoor game in team history. On July 9th, the Shock will face the Utah Blaze in the Joe Albi Stadium Summer Classic.

Tickets for the game will go on sale for season ticket holders tomorrow at noon and will go on sale to the general public on Monday morning at 10 AM through TicketsWest and range from $10-$75.

"We are proud to bring such a unique event to the greatest fans in the AFL, right here in Spokane," Majority Owner/CEO Brady Nelson said. "This is an idea that we have been toying with for a few years now and we are happy to bring it to our fans. The Joe Albi Summer Classic' is going to be a memorable event that no one will want to miss."

The game will feature all the traditional rules of the Arena Game, including a 50-yard field with walls and rebound nets. Supreme Sports Marketing will co-promote the game with the Shock. "Having this game played outdoors is a great way to introduce more fans to our exciting sport and creates a different look to Arena Football," Commissioner Jerry B. Kurz said. "The 18-game schedule allows us to experiment with other aspects of our game while still providing our fans with the same family-fun entertainment."

The ArenaBowl XXIII Champion Shock kick off the 2011 season on March 11th in San Jose against the SaberCats. The Shock will host the Cleveland Gladiators in Spokane on March 19th. Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by calling 509 242 7462.
