Shock shake up roster: add three trade two

May 22, 2009 - Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today that they have added DB Lionell Singleton, WR Jeron Harvey, and OL Carnell Stewart to their roster. The Shock also announced that they have traded DL Martel Brown and WR Johnny Walker.
Martel Brown has been traded to Green Bay for future considerations and Johnny Walker has been traded to the Tri-Cities for further considerations.
Singleton, 5-10 174, starred at Florida International University, where he finished second in career interceptions (8), interception return yards (225) and pass break-ups (21).
"We're really excited about getting him here. He's one of those guys that was here for a two-day work out and ended up making the team," Head Coach Adam Shackleford said. "He's extremely athletic, he's got great speed and he's very coachable."
Harvey, 6-5 215, caught 110 passes for 1,602 yards and eight touchdowns at the University of Houston. After College, Harvey was signed to a three year contract by the Jacksonville Jaguars, but was released in August of 2008.
"Not only does he have great size for a WR, he plays very physical as well. He has some of those things you just can't teach," Head Coach Shackleford said.
Stewart, 6-4 317, played at Louisiana State University starting 14 games during the Tigers National Championship season in 2007. Stewart recorded eight knockdowns in the Championship game versus Ohio State.
"He's a big, strong, physical player," Head Coach Shackleford said. "We think he can come in and add some good quality depth."
Singleton, Harvey and Stewart are all eligible to play immediately, but they are not expected to be in the line-up this weekend.
