Spokane Shock News Release

The Spokane Shock announced today that Chris Cook, Cornelius "Chico" Mackey, and Tyko Spencer have been assigned to the 2007 roster by the arenafootball2 League Office.

Spencer, 5"11' 190, played Wide Receiver at Division III North Central College where his name decorates the school's record book. He holds single game records for receptions (14), yardage (288), and touchdowns (3). As a senior, he was named a Division III First Team All-American.

"I play with a lot of passion and emotion," Spencer said. "I can make the big plays and give a team the best chance to win games and ultimately a championship."

Joining Spencer at WR will be former Grambling State Tiger Chico Mackey. Before transferring to Grambling State, Mackey spent time at Fresno State and West Los Angeles Community College. Mackey, 5'11" 208, used his 4.5 40 speed at Grambling where to average 21 yards/catch.

"Chico is a player who never got enough film to play in the NFL, but he is a NFL-caliber player," Head Coach Adam Shackleford said. "He just needs to get onto the field and prove it."

The third signee under the Shackleford era is offensive lineman Chris Cook. Cook, 6'1" 310, spent his college days at Tennessee Chattanooga, where he started his career as a walk-on and ended as a Pre-season All Conference selection in his senior year. During that season, he was selected as a team captain, starting four games at center and the remaining five games at right guard.

"Coach Shackleford is hitting the recruiting trail hard and the results are starting to show" General Manager Adam Nebeker said. "Fans are going to see an even better roster than last year, with some familiar faces and a lot of new faces."

Season tickets for the 2007 season are on sale now as the Shock defends its ArenaCup Championship from last season. Tickets can be purchased by calling 509 242 7462.
