
Dorados assigned five, announce home opener

Hidalgo, Texas --- The Rio Grande Valley Dorados (af2) today were assigned five players, including two who played for the club last season. The team also announced the date and opponent of the 2007 home opener.
The Dorados were assigned WR Randell Lewis and OL/DL Roy Stroud, both of whom played for the team in 2006. Lewis appeared in one game for Rio last season and was held without any yards. Stroud played in nine games, starting two, and 2.5 tackles.
Also assigned to the team were WR Jermaine Carpenter (Pittsburg St), OL/DL Kendrick Gross (Houston) and WR/DB Rance Olison (Texas A&M - Kingsville).
The Dorados begin their fourth season of af2 action in April 2007. They open the home half of the schedule vs. the Laredo Lobos on April 14. Kick off is set for 7:30 p.m. The entire af2 schedule is due to be released soon.
