Spokane Shock News Release

SPOKANE, Wash. (October 20, 2014) - The upcoming year will mark the 10th season of Shock arena football in Spokane and in preparation for 2015 the Shock have highlighted their "10 Electrifying Seasons" logo. Created by local graphic designer and Shock fan Myk Crawford, the logo will be utilized on marketing and promotional materials, as well as, limited edition apparel and merchandise items.

The franchise was established in 2005 and played their inaugural season in 2006 at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena as an expansion team in the af2 under the majority ownership of Brady Nelson. During the Shock's time as a member of the af2 they would go on to win division titles in all four seasons and ArenaCup Championships in 2006 and 2009.

The Arena Football League would return in 2010 and welcome the Shock's transition from the former af2. Spokane would go on to win ArenaBowl XXIII in their inaugural season. During the Shock's time in the AFL they have made four playoff appearances in five seasons and positioned themselves as one of the top teams in arena football.

Prior to the start of the 2014, the Shock were purchased by Arena Football Partners, LLC led by Chairman Nader Naini and his ownership group. In September of 2014, at the conclusion of the AFL's season, the Shock signed a multiyear lease with the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena to solidify the team's commitment to continue the great tradition of arena football in Spokane.

"We [Arena Football Partners, LLC] are excited to be entering our second full season of ownership and to lead the city, fans and team into our tenth season as a franchise in 2015," said Chairman of Arena Football Partners, LLC Nader Naini. "The Shock have served as a great civic asset to the communities of the Inland Northwest and we are looking forward to continuing that tradition with the 9th Man at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena for years to come."
