Shock Add Former Cal Bear
October 20, 2011 - Arena Football League (AFL)
Spokane Shock News Release
Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today that DB Bryant Nnabuife (pronounced nuh-BOO-fee) has been added to the 2012 roster.
Nnabuife, 6-1 195, started his professional football career earlier this year when he signed with the Arizona Cardinals. During his time with the Cardinals, Nnabuife played in four preseason games, collecting 10 tackles with one pass break-up, before being released during the final cuts.
Nnabuife completed his collegiate career in 2010 at the University of California, where he tallied 59 tackles - including five for loss - with one interception and three pass break-ups in 29 games.
Additionally, Nnabuife was a key contributor on special teams picking up two blocked punts that he returned for a combined 35 yards, scoring on both opportunities.
"His size definetly caught our attention," Head Coach Andy Olson said. "He is not only tall but he is physical and we would like to see him press and run with receivers. He proved himself in the Pac-10 and he turned some heads in the NFL and we're expecting his success to continue in the AFL."
With today's addition, Spokane's roster stands at 31 players. The Shock will open up next season on Monday March 12th hosting the Iowa Barnstormers. For 2012 ticket information contact the Spokane Shock ticket office at 509 242 7462 ext. 1.
