October 20, 2011 - Arena Football League (AFL)
Kansas City Command News Release

KANSAS CITY - The Kansas City Command has assigned its seventh receiver to its 2012 roster, acquiring former Buffalo Bill and Green Bay Packer Jason Jones (6-1, 180).

Jones began his professional football career in 2008 as an undrafted free agent of the Buffalo Bills, finishing his tenure in the NFL with the Green Bay Packers. In 2007, he led the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions with 47 receptions for 793 yards and three touchdowns, ranking second among wide-outs in the Southwestern Athletic Conference with an average of 75.25 receiving yards per game. Jones holds the UAPB school records for receiving yards (2,227) and touchdown receptions (22). His 13 touchdown receptions in 2006 set the Golden Lion single-season record, and his 98-yard touchdown reception versus Southern Illinois set the university record for longest touchdown reception in the same year. Jones ended his collegiate career as one of five players in the history of NCAA football to average 20+ yards per catch in their careers.

The newest Command receiver joins 12 other signings on the offensive side of the ball, with the team's defense currently at 10.

Each Arena Football League team is allowed up to 35 players to attend training camp, which will begin for the Command near mid February.
