Spokane Shock News Release

Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today that DL Angelo Craig and DL Torrey Davis have been added to the 2011 roster.

Craig, 6-5 245, played in the CFL for the BC Lions last season. Prior to his CFL experience, Craig played in the NFL on the practice squads for the New England Patriots (2009) and the Carolina Panthers (2009).

In 2008, Craig was drafted in the seventh-round by the Cincinnati Bengals. He played in four preseason games, recording five tackles and a sack.

Before he started his professional career, Craig played in 39 games for the Cincinnati Bearcats and recorded 74 tackles with seven sacks.

"Craig is one of those guys who is on the cusp of returning to the NFL," Head Coach Rob Keefe explained. "This is an opportunity for Craig to remain relevant in football and we can help him get back to the level of football where he belongs."

Davis, 6-3 310, was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this season before being released.

He finished his collegiate career in 2009 at Jacksonville State (after transferring from Florida) where he collected 16 tackles, 2.5 sacks one pass breakup and one fumble recovery.

"As a nose guard, you don't always get all the glitz and glamour but you have to do a lot of the grunt work," Head Coach Rob Keefe said. "But, that type of grunt work can really help a defense dominate a game and that's what we expect out of Torrey."

The defending ArenaBowl XXIII Champion Shock will kick off the 2011 season in San Jose as they visit the SaberCats on March 11. The Shock will return to Spokane to host the Cleveland Gladiators on Saturday March 19th.
