Spokane Shock News Release
Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock continues to add talent along the defensive line, adding DE Brandon Sharpe today. The 6'2" 255 pound Texas Tech product was most recently on the Arizona Cardinals' practice squad after stints with the New Orleans Saints and Dallas Cowboys.
Sharpe's tremendous career with the Red Raiders was highlighted by his 2009 senior campaign in which he notched 15 sacks (2nd in the nation) and being named 1st Team All Big 12 and All American. "Not only was Brandon's on-field production off the charts, his workout numbers were outstanding," said Spokane Shock General Manager Ryan Rigmaiden. "His additional NFL experience and coaching make him the total package. We're lucky to have him."
Head Coach Andy Olson added, "The AFL is no different than the NFL in that games are won up front. Sharpe is a difference-maker and someone that opposing offenses will have to account for on every snap."
Spokane's 2012 season begins on Monday March 12th as the Shock host the Iowa Barnstormers. To order season tickets, contact the Shock Ticket Department at 509 242 7462 ext.1.
