
Shelvin Mack Rejoins Red Claws

PORTLAND, ME - The Maine Red Claws, presented by Unum, today announced that they have acquired point guard Shelvin Mack. Mack rejoins the Red Claws from the Philadelphia 76ers following the expiration of his second 10-day contract with the NBA club. Mack is expected to join the Red Claws in Springfield for tonight's game vs. the Springfield Armor.
Mack, 22, has earned three 10-day NBA contracts this season, spending time with the Washington Wizards and Philadelphia 76ers after spending all of last season with the Wizards. He has appeared in 11 NBA games this season and 14 with the Red Claws where he has averaged 20.5 ppg and is ranked 4th in NBADL scoring. Mack was one of four Red Claws players selected to the 2013 NBA Development League All-Star Game and will join teammates Micah Downs, DaJuan Summers and Chris Wright, as well as the Red Claws' coaching staff, on the Futures team next weekend in Houston. To make room on the roster for Mack, the Red Claws have waived guard Hank Thorns.
The Red Claws will face the Springfield Armor tonight in Springfield in an East Division matchup. The team will return home tomorrow to host the Bakersfield Jam at 7 PM before closing out the weekend at home on Sunday with a 3 PM contest with the Armor.
