Belleville Bulls News Release
Shawn Lalonde and Richard Panik have been assigned to AHL clubs following their season ending with the Belleville Bulls. Lalonde will join the Rockford IceHogs while Panik has been assigned to the Norfolk Admirals.
Lalonde led Belleville in scoring this season with 13 goals and 56 points and participated in the 2010 OHL All-Star Classic. The Orleans, Ontario native is the Bulls all-time leader in career regular season goals by a defenceman. Lalonde was selected in the third round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks and signed an entry level contract with the team in December.
Panik joined the Bulls in January following a trade with the Windsor Spitfires. In 27 games with Belleville, Panik scored 12 times while adding 11 assists and 36 penalty minutes. Panik represented Slovakia at the past two World Junior Hockey Championships and was selected in the second round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Lalonde and Panik could make their AHL debuts as early as Friday when Rockford hosts the Peoria Rivermen and Norfolk faces the Adirondack Phantoms.
