67's Confirm Playoff Dates
March 16, 2010 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Ottawa 67's News Release
(Ottawa ON.): The Ottawa 67's today confirmed dates and starting times for their first round OHL playoff series against the Niagara Ice Dogs. The series gets underway this Friday night (March 19) at 7:30 pm at the Urbandale Centre and game 2 will be played this Sunday afternoon at 2:00 pm, once again, on the team's regular home ice surface at Lansdowne Park.
"It's great to get going on our regular weekend days and times," said 67's owner and governor, Jeff Hunt. "The boys battled hard during the regular season to earn that opportunity and I know our fans are looking forward to experiencing the playoff atmosphere with their families and friends in the Urbandale Centre."
The series shifts to the Ice Dogs home ice surface in St. Catherine's for games 3 and 4 on Tuesday and Thursday of next week. If a game 5 is required, it will be played in Kanata's Scotia Bank Place on Sunday, March 28th starting at 1:00 pm. "The Urbandale Centre is hosting the Ottawa Home and Garden Show that weekend and we're extremely fortunate to have a great facility like SBP that we can adopt as our home for that game, should we need it," said Hunt. "The phrase 'home ice advantage' really refers to the fans in the stands, not the bricks and mortar of the building, and we know we'll have a loud and proud group in the stands out there. The other positive about playing at SBP is that is gives fans on the western outskirts of our region-the families in Carleton Place, Pakenham, Almonte, Constance Bay, Fitzroy Harbour and everywhere else in the Ottawa Valley-an opportunity to see us with a much shorter drive to the rink."
If a game 6 is required in the series, it would be played on Monday March 29th in St. Catherine's and if a 7th game is needed, it would be back in the Urbandale Centre on Tuesday, March 30th starting at 7:30 pm.
