SHARKS RE-SIGN LEFT WING RYANE CLOWE

CLEVELAND - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has re-signed left wing Ryane Clowe to a three-year contract. In keeping with club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In 2004-05, Clowe amassed the second-most prolific offensive season in modern Barons history by leading the team in goals (27), assists (35) and points (62). The second-year forward, who also ranked third on the team with 101 penalty minutes, earned the team's Most Valuable Player award for the season. The power forward also led the squad in plus/minus (+19), multi-point games (16), power play points (23), and power play goals (14).

In 2003-04, Clowe ranked 12th among all AHL rookie scorers, finishing with 40 points (11 goals, 29 assists). His totals ranked him fifth on the Barons in scoring, and fourth on the team in assists, penalty minutes (97) and plus/minus, finishing with a +15 rating.

The six-foot-two, 215-pound native of St. Johns, Newfoundland was originally drafted by San Jose in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft (6th round, 175th overall).

SHARKS RE-SIGN CENTER PATRICK RISSMILLER

CLEVELAND - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has re-signed Group II restricted free agent center Patrick Rissmiller to a one-year contract. In keeping with club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In 2004-05, Rissmiller, who turns 27 on Oct. 26, posted 44 points (21 goals, 23 assists) in 69 games with the Cleveland Barons. His offensive totals ranked him second on the team in goals (21) and third on the team in points (44) for the season.

In 2003-04, Rissmiller posted 45 points (14 goals, 31 assists) in 75 games with Cleveland. On Nov. 12, 2003, Rissmiller was recalled by the San Jose Sharks, making his NHL-debut the following night against the St. Louis Blues, earning him the distinction of being the first player from Holy Cross and the first player from the MAAC Conference to play in the NHL.

In three professional seasons of play, all with the Barons, Rissmiller has amassed 49 goals, 80 assists, 129 points, and 216 games played, which all rank second in modern Barons franchise history.

The six-foot-four, 205-pound native of Belmont, Massachusetts was signed by San Jose as a free agent on June 30, 2003.

SHARKS SIGN RIGHT WING JONATHAN TREMBLAY

CLEVELAND - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has signed free agent right wing Jonathan Tremblay to a three-year contract. In keeping with club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In 2004-05, Tremblay, 21, posted five points (two goals, three assists) and 136 penalty minutes in 46 games with the Johnstown Chiefs of the ECHL. After attending the preseason training camp with the Cleveland Barons, the top development AHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, Tremblay was recalled by the Barons on Feb. 1, 2005. Tremblay made his AHL debut on Feb. 4, 2005 at Chicago.

In 2003-04, Tremblay posted a career-high, three goals in 60 games with the Acadie-Bathurst Titans of the QMJHL. In addition to his offensive totals, Tremblay posted a team-leading and a league-leading 316 penalty minutes with the Titans. His penalty minutes were up from 232 the previous season when he finished second on the Titans in PIM.

The six-foot-three, 240-pound native of Fauquier, Ontario was originally selected by San Jose in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft (7th round, 201st overall).
