Sharks Set for Eight Home Games at Sea Best Field

JACKSONVILLE - The Jacksonville Sharks of the National Arena League announced their 2017 schedule. This year marks the eighth season for the Sharks and first season with the newly formed National Arena League. The 2017 schedule fits a March to June window with a postseason format that will result in two first-round playoff games, followed by a bye week before the NAL championship game, scheduled for the second weekend in July. The Sharks will begin the 2017 season on the road against the Columbus Lions Friday, March 17 in Georgia. The Lions are projected to be one of the top teams in the league this year, finishing their undefeated 2016 campaign as American Indoor Champions. The 2015 American Conference Champion Sharks season opener against the Lions is their first game in the NAL, which will launch a much anticipated rivalry between the two franchises. The Sharks' home opener is set for Saturday, March 25 against the Georgia Firebirds with kickoff set for 7pm at Sea Best Field.

Following the home opener, the Sharks will host the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks Saturday, April 1st at 7pm. During week 4, the Sharks will hit the road to face the High Country Grizzlies Sunday, April 9 in Boone, NC followed by the Sharks first bye week. After the bye week the Sharks will face the Monterrey Steel Monday, April 24 in Monterrey, Mexico for the Sharks first ever international game in franchise history. The Sharks will return from Mexico with back- to-back home games facing the Columbus Lions Saturday, April 29 at 7pm and the Corpus Christi Rage Saturday, May 6 at 7pm. Next, the team will enjoy its second bye week of the season followed by a return to Sea Best Field to face the Monterrey Steel Saturday, May 20 at 7pm.

The Sharks will have their final road game of the regular season against the Corpus Christi Rage Sunday, May 28 in Corpus Christi, TX. Returning from Texas, the Sharks will host a three-game home stand to finish the regular season. The three final home games will include the Dayton Wolfpack Saturday, June 3, the High Country Grizzlies Saturday, June 10 and the Monterrey Steel Saturday, June 17 with each game scheduled for a 7pm kickoff.

The new schedule will allow the Sharks to play each NAL team at least once with two bye weeks before postseason play.

The Jacksonville Sharks look continue their success in arena football as the NAL plans on significant team expansion with overall league growth on the horizon. Jacksonville's full 2017 schedule is listed below, though dates and times are subject to change and theme nights to be announced at a later date. All times listed are Eastern.
