Sharks Expand Thirsty Thursday

May 2, 2013 - Coastal Plain League (Coastal Plain)
Wilmington Sharks News Release

WILMINGTON, N.C. - The Wilmington Sharks are excited to announce the most popular night of the summer will now happen every home game of the 2013 season.

Ask anyone in town about the Wilmington Sharks and the most common response is; "I love Thirsty Thursdays. $1 beer is the best deal in town." The Sharks have taken that feedback and offered the fans what they have been looking for - $1 beer every night in Sharky's Cove.

Once fans have entered the gate, for just a $2 admission to Sharky's Cove, everyone 21 & over will have the ability to buy $1 beer and $2 wine during every home game. Sharky's Cove will prove to be the place to be in the Port City.

"I'm looking to put my thumbprint on what we do at "The Shark Tank," said Sharks general manager Pat Hutchins. "We heard, we listened, we acted. We're looking forward to our 17th year in the Port City. As always, we will continue to provide an affordable, fun, family environment in the rest of the park."

The Wilmington Sharks are a proud member of the Coastal Plain League, entering their 17th season in the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 17th season in 2013, the CPL features 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts. Furthermore, the CPL has had over 1,000 alumni drafted and 62 alums - including 2011 AL MVP and Cy Young winner Justin Verlander - make their Major League debut thus far.
