Sharks End Losing Streak

Wilmington Sharks News Release
The first four innings for Wilmington (6-11) looked like it would be another one of those nights for the Sharks. Fayetteville (7-9) scored a run in each of the first four innings to take a commanding 4-0 lead, but that's when things changed.
Andrew Kaminsky (2-0) came out of the bullpen and was outstanding for the Sharks. The freshman from Liberty University shut the door on the SwampDogs bats. Kaminsky tossed four scoreless innings in relief of Bryce Cota, allowing just two hits, while striking out five.
The Sharks bats though were still quiet. Through the first seven innings, Wilmington had just four hits and no runs. Things turned around though in the eight against the Fayetteville bullpen.
Ben LaSpaluto led off the inning with a single, followed by a walk and hit batter to load the bases with no one out. Then with one out and the bases loaded, Ward Coleman stepped in to face Kyle Klotz. The Wilmington native laced a ball into the left center gap to clear the bases. Down one though, the Sharks left Coleman stranded at third.
After Kaminsky's fourth shutdown inning, The Sharks came to the plate against Austin Goff (1-2) in the ninth. After a strikeout, Wil Hoyle singled to right to put the tying run aboard. Then, Ben LaSpaluto what looked to be a game ending 6-4-3 double play ball, but it was thrown away by shortstop Matt Kelly. Runners were then on the corners for Paxton Wallace.
Down one, Paxton Wallace crushed a line drive off the center field wall to score Hoyle, but LaSpaluto had to freeze on the hit and only reached third. With now two outs in the inning, guess who stepped in for the Sharks. Ward Coleman with two outs singled back up the middle for his fourth and fifth RBIs of the night to give Wilmington a 6-4 lead.
Sam Luchansky (1) then came in to work Wilmington's only 1-2-3 inning of the night and struck out Logan Jarvis to end the contest.
The eight game losing streak is over as the Sharks rise back to third place in the East Division.
The Sharks pitching staff also left 13 SwampDogs on the bases, including the bases loaded twice.
