Jacksonville Sharks News Release
JACKSONVILLE - The Jacksonville Sharks announced Tuesday that defensive back Keon Lyn has been placed on the Other League Exempt List. Lyn is to sign with the Washington Redskins.
The 27-year-old Lyn (6'1", 205) has spent his only two seasons in the AFL playing for Jacksonville. So far this season for the sharks, Lyn has one tackle with six assisted tackles.
The Miami native started out playing for Miramar High School where his team won a state championship in his senior season in 2009. Lyn was named a 2009 Broward County All-Star. Lyn recorded 119 tackles and had five interceptions.
During his four years at Syracuse, Lyn had 75 solo tackles, six interceptions and a forced fumble. He also had a defensive touchdown in each of his final two seasons.
Lyn was signed by the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent after the 2014 NFL Draft, but didn't make the final roster. After being assigned to the Sharks in 2015, Lyn had stints with Winnipeg in the Canadian Football league, the New York Jets and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before finally being signed to Washington's practice squad this spring.
Following the transactions, the Jacksonville roster remains at the League maximum of 24 active players.
