(Central Islip, N.Y., Aug. 10, 2010) - The Camden Riversharks defeated the Long Island Ducks 8-2 on Tuesday night in front of a past-capacity crowd of 6,041 at Suffolk County Sports Park.

Camden cracked the scoreboard early with two runs in each of the first two frames against Ducks' starter Daryl Harang. Garrett Guzman's RBI sacrifice fly and Teuris Olivares' RBI single in the first pushed the lead to 2-0. Chris Walker's RBI single and Brian Burgamy's RBI sacrifice fly in the second extended their advantage to four.

Olivares' solo homer over the right field wall in the third made the score 5-0, while RBI singles by Guzman and Olivares in the fourth helped Camden grab a 7-0 lead.

Long Island claimed their first run in the home sixth as Robinson Cancel delivered his ninth homer of the season over the left field wall. Cancel also added a RBI groundout in the eighth to score Ray Navarrete, who led off the frame with a double.

Camden starter Mike Madsen (1-0) earned the win, firing five shutout innings, surrendering one hit with four punch-outs. Harang (2-2) suffered the loss, yielding 14 hits and eight runs in seven innings of work.

The Ducks continue their four-game series against the Riversharks on Wednesday.Game time is set for 7:05 PM with the Suffolk County Sports Park gates opening at 6:05. The first 1,500 fans through the gates will receive Red, White and Black Baseballs, courtesy of St. Catherine of Siena. Randy Leek gets the start for Long Island against the `Sharks' Brad Knox.
