Holiday Kick-Off
Sharks begin holiday festivities with Food Bank and Communities in School
The Corpus Christi Sharks kicked off the Holiday season this past weekend. As the holidays rapidly approach, the Sharks are fulfilling holiday wishes and making appearances throughout the Coastal Bend. Although the Sharks are busy preparing for their 2009 season, the Sharks players, mascot, and staff members are hard at work spreading the Holiday cheer.
The Sharks began the Holiday festivities on Friday with the Food Bank Of Corpus Christi. Sharks Head Coach Michael Trigg and front office members visited the HEB Plus to participate in the "Share Your Christmas" event. Upon making a donation, the Sharks team visited with shoppers while spreading the Holiday spirit.
On Saturday, the Sharks participated in the Communities in School's "Christmas Around the World" event. Held at the Gonzalez Center located at 702 South Brownlee, Sharks players, coaches, mascot, and front office staff enjoyed a waffle breakfast with over 300 participating kids. The Sharks were given the dubious task of representing the country of Australia and were responsible for educating the kids about the Outback. As the kid's passports were stamped, Sharks players signed autographs while passing out coloring pages and participants were able to take a picture with Sharks' mascot Scully.
