Sharks Add Rookie Defensive Lineman LaKendrick Ross

JACKSONVILLE - The Jacksonville Sharks announced Thursday that defensive lineman LaKendrick Ross has been assigned to the team's roster on a one-year rookie contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 22-year-old Ross (6'5", 335) has spent time with a pair of National Football League organizations within the past year. After going undrafted during the 2014 NFL Supplemental Draft, Ross signed with the Cincinnati Bengals. Ross competed in training camp with the Bengals, but was waived by the team. Ross then signed a futures contract wiwith the Washington Redskins following the 2014 NFL season.

Prior to the start of his pro career, Ross attended Virginia University of Lynchburg. In his final year with the Dragons, Ross recorded 19 tackles, five tackles for loss and four sacks.

Born in North Carolina, Ross attended I.C. Norcom High School in Portsmouth, Virginia.

The Sharks also announced Thursday that wide receiver London Crawford has been placed on inactive reserve. Following the moves, the Jacksonville roster remains at the League maximum of 24 active players.
