Sharks Add Cook and Wallace to 2009 Roster

Corpus Christi Sharks Vice President and General Manager Larry Linde announced today that OL/DL John Cook and FB/LB Wallace House have been assigned to the af2 Franchise for 2009.

Cook, (6-3, 300, Texas A&M Kingsville) returns for a third season with the Sharks. Last year Cook was one of the most versatile players on the Sharks roster. Cook Played Fullback, and each Offensive Line position. Cook was a key piece in the teams pass protection that finished second in the league for fewest sacks allowed. Cooks ability to carry the ball also paid big dividends for the team. Cook rushed for 124 yards and five touchdowns. "John is a very unselfish and durable player for us," said Sharks head Coach Mike Trigg. "His versatility is a great asset to the team."

House, (6-0, 290 Fordham), joins the Sharks after spending last season with the Amarillo Dusters. House landed league wide attention in 2007 while playing with the Florida Firecats scoring 12 touchdowns in just 11 games. "Wallace is a guy who we've been interested in for two years", said Trigg. "His bruising running style might be the answer for our Red Zone running attack and also has the potential to set numerous records in 2009", he added.
