Nashville SC News Release
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Nashville Soccer Club, in conjunction with the U.S. Soccer Federation, announced today the selection of Shaq Moore to the first U.S. Men's National Team camp of 2024, taking place in Orlando, Fla. on Jan. 8-16. The United States will then take on Slovenia at 2 p.m. CT on Jan. 20 at Toyota Field in San Antonio.
Moore has made 17 caps for the Red, White, and Blue since debuting in 2018, including appearances in the United States' draw with England and a victory over Iran during the 2022 FIFA World Cup™ in Qatar. During the USMNT's 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup Group Stage victory over Canada, Moore netted the fastest goal in team history, scoring just 20 seconds into the match.
During his two seasons with Nashville SC, the wingback has been a stalwart for the Boys in Gold's backline, logging 3,665 minutes in 43 regular season matches (42 starts) and 266 minutes in three MLS Cup playoff matches (all as a starter). Moore started all seven matches for Nashville SC during the club's run to the inaugural 2023 Leagues Cup Final, logging 613 minutes and netting a goal in the team's 5-0 victory over Minnesota United FC in the tournament Quarterfinal.
Moore will return to Nashville SC's preseason training on Jan. 21 as the club prepares for its inaugural appearance in the Concacaf Champions Cup Thursday, Feb. 22 at Moca FC and its 2024 MLS Regular Season opener at GEODIS Park vs. the New York Red Bulls on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 4 p.m. CT.
