Watertown, SD -- The Watertown Shamrocks have officially signed Bennet Benson to a tender agreement for the 2026-27 season.

Benson is a 2009 born forward from West Fargo, North Dakota and just completed his junior season of high school for the Sheyenne High Mustangs. Benson took a massive step this season, increasing his point production from 16 points last year to a state leading 62 point campaign this season. In total, Benson recorded 29 goals and 33 assists in 27 games for Sheyenne High.

"We are thrilled to have Bennet tender with us for next season," said Shamrocks Head Coach and General Manager Casey Kirley in a statement. "Bennet came to our first pre-draft/prospects camp in the summer of 2024 and caught our eye there. His high-end speed and playmaking ability has helped him to lead the entire state of North Dakota in scoring this past season." The West Fargo product also spent time playing for Team North Dakota this year. He played in 10 games and notched 13 total points, ranking 2nd most on the team. Benson additionally played in one game for the NA3HL's Rochester Grizzlies in October.

Benson stands at 5'11", weighs 172 lbs, and shoots right-handed. He is Watertown's eight tender of the year.
