Tonight's Matchup: The San Francisco Bulls are back home as they head into Game 3 of this Western Conference Quarterfinals matchup with the first-seeded Alaska Aces, tied at one game apiece. Tonight marks the first home playoff game in Bulls history.

Last Saturday night in Alaska, San Francisco came away with a 1-0 victory in a nail biter. The game remained scoreless after 40 minutes before the Bulls finally broke through with a goal from Kory Falite, five minutes into the third period. He received assists from Brett Findlay and Dean Ouellet. That would be all the help netminder Thomas Heemskerk would need, who shut the door on the Aces offense. He completed the shutout, finishing with 32 saves.

Saturday was a night of firsts for San Francisco. In a superb performance, Heemskerk earned the Bulls first shutout in team history. San Francisco had come close on a few occasions during the regular season, only to fall just short. Heemskerk, the team's regular season leader in wins, GAA, and save percentage, accomplished the feat, and on the biggest stage. In doing so he also sealed the Bulls first playoff victory in team history. It was the third time San Francisco had beaten Alaska on their home ice this season.

Last Sunday it was announced that forward Peter Sivak would be returning to the Bulls, back on loan from the Worcester Sharks of the AHL. In nine games with Worcester he compiled four goals and one assist in nine games. Sivak was San Francisco's team leader in goals (33) and points (56) during the regular season, and should provide the club with a great boost as they look to carry their momentum into Game 3 back at home.

After tonight's matchup the series will continue with Game 4 tomorrow, and Game 5 Saturday, both at 7:15 pm. Help Orange Out the Cow Palace. Call (855) SF-BULLS for tickets.
