Reading Royals News Release
Greenville, SC- The Reading Royals of the, affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, won Game Four of the best-of-seven Eastern Conference Quarterfinal matchup the Greenville Road Warriors, 3-0, at BI-LO Center in Greenville, South Carolina. The Royals now lead the series three games to one.
The Royals scored their first goal of the first period in the series 13:13 into the game, when Dominic Jalbert stepped up to keep left point, freeing the puck to the top of the left circle where Yannick Tifu settled, turned and fired low stick for his second of the playoff season. Tifu stretched the Royals lead to two 7:12 into the second period, when Stan Galiev tracked a loose puck deep in the right corner and fed Nikita Kashirsky in the right circle. Kashirsky drew a defender towards him and slipped a perfect diagonal down pass to the left side of the crease where a waiting Tifu had all day to bury the back-door chance. T.J. Syner added a breakaway forehand, back-hand slip late in the game for additional insurance. Mark Owuya (1-1-0, 26/26) recorded his first shutout of the season-and the third of the playoff series for the Royals. Greenville's Connor Knapp (1-3-0, 31/34) was the hard-luck loser.
