April 11, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release
Greenville, SC: For the third time in the series the Road Warriors could not score a goal in the 3-0 loss against the Reading Royals.
Yannik Tifu opened the scoring by taking advantage of the Road Warriors incapability of clearing the puck. The leader scorer for Reading during the regular season drove a quick wrist shot past Connor Knapp for 1-0 lead through the first period.
In the second period, Tifu scored his second of the game on a back-door goal. Nikita Kashirsky faked a slap shot, which drew the defense away from Tifu, to feed the open forward for his second assist of the game.
Greenville had trouble generating much offense in the later stages of the game. T.J. Syner exposed the defense pinching in the offensive zone and scored on a breakaway goal to finish off Greenville in game four. Knapp took the loss with 31 saves. Mark Owuya shut the Road Warriors for his first shutout of the year with 29 saves. Reading won the game by a 3-0 score and takes a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.
